Kaitlyn, our Clinical Supervisor, comes to Avenues with 8 years of field experience in social work. Her career began in the Boston area, working with Transitional Aged Youth teenage mothers and emotionally disturbed children and their families.

In 2014 she re-located to the Eastern Shore of Maryland to complete her Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program at Salisbury University. Her career path has included stellar work in the correctional system and eventually as a mental health therapist for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, with expertise in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Kaitlyn’s skillset has been on display wherever she has been. She excels in crisis management, de-escalation, group therapy, family therapy, community coordination, clinical treatment team collaboration along with numerous other creative modalities to effectively assist patients with varied mental statuses on an individual level.

 She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Certified and a Maryland Board Approved Supervisor through the Board of Counselors and Therapists, as well as through the Board of Social Work. She received a Level 1 Trauma Certificate through the Ferentz Institute in 2016 and continues to be passionate about the impact that trauma brings to the fields of mental health and addictions.

Throughout her career Kaitlyn has had the honor of working with many types of students in their internships including future Social Workers, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Kaitlyn has a genuine love for the all-encompassing field of Social Work. It gives her the ability to utilize creativity with compassion in non-traditional ways. She looks forward to cultivating  a balanced, healthy, and team-driven community in the newest Avenues facility on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Since joining the Avenues Recovery content team, Shlomo has become a thought leader in the addiction field. His popular addiction podcast "Rubber Bands" is a must listen for anyone involved in Substance abuse treatment. He is a Seinfeld junkie, a recovering Twitter fanatic, and a sports expert. He enjoys milk shakes and beautiful views from rooftops.
