What We Do

Avenues Recovery Center, located in Cambridge, MD, is truly a one of a kind drug detox and rehabilitation facility. Our primary focus is on medical stabilization and our residential clinical treatment program. We guide clients through the stages of addiction recovery, from helplessness to stability. At Avenues, we treat the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. You will receive personalized care in a clean, modern, home-like setting.

Life skills, wellness, nutrition, social acceptance, financial responsibilities, and family values are all key components of our treatment plans. As our clients progress so does the individualized care. The residential style program incorporates luxurious accommodations to remove the institutionalized feel of entering treatment. We also offer evening Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Outpatient (OP) therapy for our local clients.

Teams

Avenues Recovery Center in Pennsylvania offers the most patient-centered clinical treatment available.

The Avenues Recovery team is acutely qualified for the most at risk and vulnerable, staffed with a full-time physician, psychiatrist, and licensed counselors. Our case managers will address any legal, family, or FMLA complications, and most of all focus on workforce reentry.

Kaitlyn, our Clinical Supervisor, comes to Avenues with 8 years of field experience in social work. Her career began in the Boston area, working with Transitional Aged Youth teenage mothers and emotionally disturbed children and their families.

In 2014 she re-located to the Eastern Shore of Maryland to complete her Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program at Salisbury University. Her career path has included stellar work in the correctional system and eventually as a mental health therapist for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, with expertise in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Kaitlyn’s skillset has been on display wherever she has been. She excels in crisis management, de-escalation, group therapy, family therapy, community coordination, clinical treatment team collaboration along with numerous other creative modalities to effectively assist patients with varied mental statuses on an individual level.

 She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Certified and a Maryland Board Approved Supervisor through the Board of Counselors and Therapists, as well as through the Board of Social Work. She received a Level 1 Trauma Certificate through the Ferentz Institute in 2016 and continues to be passionate about the impact that trauma brings to the fields of mental health and addictions.

Throughout her career Kaitlyn has had the honor of working with many types of students in their internships including future Social Workers, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Kaitlyn has a genuine love for the all-encompassing field of Social Work. It gives her the ability to utilize creativity with compassion in non-traditional ways. She looks forward to cultivating  a balanced, healthy, and team-driven community in the newest Avenues facility on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Travis Roberts, MSN, FNP-C, Nurse Practitioner, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). He graduated with an Associate of Science in nursing in 2013 from the College of Southern Maryland and a Master of Science in nursing with a specialty of Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain School of Nursing and is currently enrolled at Regis Catholic University to pursue dual certification in psychiatric mental health.

Travis works tirelessly in our community to help those wishing for a lifestyle of recovery. His holistic approach coupled with medication assisted therapy teaches patients the importance of self-advocacy for their continued health during recovery from substance abuse.

Victoria has more than 10 years’ experience in the mental health and addictions fields. While she grew up in Detroit, Michigan, she has resided on Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore for the better part of a decade. Her career arc began as a case management specialist working with youth in juvenile detention facilities.

Following that, she graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Youth Studies with a concentration in Substance Abuse. Victoria worked in crisis intervention and suicide prevention in her early career and has extensive training and certification in these areas.

She has continued education in Crisis Across the Lifespan, with a special interest in Generational Trauma and Mental Health Disorders. Victoria also has many years of experience working with homeless populations and at-risk youth.

Her exceptional work has been recognized with the Crystal Hero and the National Hopeline Network Community Crisis Center Hero awards. Victoria received her Master of Human Services Counseling; Addictions & Recovery from Liberty University in 2020.

In her spare time, she likes to read, garden, and enjoy time with her husband and 3 children.

Matthew graduated from Chesapeake College in May of 2020 with an Associate Degree of Health and Human Services with a focus on Substance Abuse Counseling. He is currently in the process of obtaining his CSC-AD.

Matt has worked in the addiction field for over four years as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor and has been the Operations Manager at several recovery houses on the Eastern Shore. He developed a passion for helping people with substance abuse disorders after battling addiction himself. Matt is very involved in the recovery community and uses his success in long term recovery, along with training through college, to ensure that his clients get the best treatment experience possible. Matt is also passionate about sports, exercise and spending quality time with family.

Cathy graduated from Wor-Wic Community College in 2018 with an Associates of Applied Science in Chemical Dependency Counseling.  She began her career in 2018 at Hudson Behavioral Health in Salisbury, MD where she worked as a counselor at their residential inpatient facility and also in their 3.1 Halfway Housing program as a counselor in both a women’s house and a men’s house.  Cathy is passionate about helping those in need and prides herself on being able to connect with people of all backgrounds.  She is a fan of ‘keeping it real’ and not sugar-coating things – “Addiction is hard.  Recovery is harder.  You can do it.”  Advocating for client needs is important to her.

Cathy enjoys being creative, knitting, and going to the beach.  She resides in Salisbury, MD with her husband, 2 kids, & 3 cats.
